Hello, The fifth grade teachers at my school are giving year-end awards in different subject areas, and they want to give a Reading Award named after a famous reader. We just cannot think of someone who is famous for reading. As an example, their Writer's Award is named for William Shakespeare. I was maybe thinking of giving the teachers the name of whoever created the first primer to teach reading... does anyone know this information? If you have an idea, email me directly. I'll post a hit if there's interest.
