Two titles have been received, and several requests for me to post to the list so here goes: 1. Epossamundas 2. Can I Keep Him? by Steven Kellogg. The teacher says that it is "Can I Keep Him" Thank you so much for your help!! There are probably lots of them, but this new one is a hoot by Coleen Salley, illustrated by Janet Stevens: Epossumondas (Irma S and James H Black Honor for Excellence in Children's Literature (Awards)) They are referred to as "noodlehead" stories or English 'Lazy Jack' tales. If you are fortunate enough to find Coleen reading it on a CD, listen to it. I can hear her voice now, she is wonderful. -----Original Message----- From: School Library Media & Network Communications [mailto:LM_NET@LISTSERV.SYR.EDU] On Behalf Of Carol Valdez Sent: Thursday, November 01, 2007 2:14 PM To: LM_NET@LISTSERV.SYR.EDU Subject: TARGET: do you know the title of this story? A little boy keeps getting in trouble and relies on the excuse of, "mom, you didn't tell me not to." One thing he does is to bring a dog home that was tied up in front a store, and another thing he does is to climb up on the roof - and the refrain is, "Mom, you didn't tell me not to!" One of our reading teachers would like to access this story in order to talk about inferencing with her students. We would totally appreciate it if you would be able to supply the title for us! Thanks for your time!
