The Mystery of the Reappearing Students

Washington School Information Processing Cooperative (WSIPC)

Follett Destiny v7.5

We upgraded to Destiny v7.5 right before this school year. Weekly, one
of our IT people performs an update to our Destiny server from our
district's student database. (I'm in Washington state where we use WSIPC
with WESPaC.) One of our favorite features with v7.5 has been the
homeroom option in circulation. Recently, we noticed that some classes
had students who'd left our school last spring. They'd been made
inactive in the student database and deleted from Destiny. Here they
were in the same class as last year, but active and the same grade
assigned as last year (the teacher has switched grades levels). So it
seems the Destiny upgrade is pulling inactive students from our student
database and adding them to homerooms! Has anyone else seen this
problem? Especially in WA? I've talked briefly with Follett who of
course said the problem must be with the student database. However, this
only started happening after the upgrade to v7.5.

Thanks for any feedback to this oddity.
