I enjoyed it. Thought it is great fun. Check out the website cool things like a Library quiz, etc. Robyn Doppke Jones Librarian Pensacola, Fl robynjo@jonessoftware.com -----Original message----- From: "Sarles Patricia (18K500)" PSarles@SCHOOLS.NYC.GOV Date: Sun, 4 Nov 2007 07:33:31 -0600 To: LM_NET@LISTSERV.SYR.EDU Subject: Re: The Librarians sitcom I just "watched" it too this morning, although I had it on in the background while doing other library-related work. My two observations: 1)librarians definitely dress like Frances so the writers got that right and 2) it will be interesting to see how the "untrained", non-MLS "children's librarian" plays out - just because our jobs look so easy to the people whoobserve us ("Miss, all you do is put books on the shelves. Why do you need a master's degree for that?"), can you really be a librarian without the training? It will be interesting to see what the writers come up with. _________________________ Patricia Sarles, MA, MLS Summit School Media Center Passages Academy Libraries 941 Rev. James A. Yes, everyone, I just watched Episode 1 online, so those of us who normally see a different "ABC" are able to watch "The Librarians" here in the U.S. It was a fun way to start my Sunday - but it's definitely for "Mature" audiences as the rating states. Can't wait to see Episode 2 - Amy McCracken FSU MLIS Candidate 2008 Media Paraprofessional Roswell, GA mommyattorney@yahoo.com Bronwyn wrote: Jeanna, Here in Australia, on the OZTL list, it was suggested you could watch it online. http://www.abc.net.au/tv/librarians/#/films Best wishes, Bronwyn Ritchie Library Technician Chatswood Hills State School Queensland,Australia britc3@eq.edu.au bronwynr@powerup.com.au ----- Original Message ----- From: To: Sent: Sunday, November 04, 2007 5:45 PM Subject: [LM_NET] The Librarians sitcom >I got excited, until I realized ABC was Australian Broadcasting Company. > Don't think my satellite dish will pick it up.
