I agree to a certain extent at the high school level but by the time a student gets to college they need to step up to the plate and take responsibility for their learning. It is not the college professors job to "motivate" students to learn. Why do you think online classes have such a high dropout and failure rate? If a college student doesn't have the self discipline to sit in class and listen without going on line to entertain themselves then they shouldn't be there and they would have a hard time doing an online class.
