Hello LM_Net! Please forgive cross-postings.

I'm pleased to provide information on the USBBY program at the ALA
Midwinter Meeting in Philadelphia, 8:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. on Friday,
January 11. The location will be announced later this month.

Author Ying Chang Compestine is the featured speaker. Her new book
"Revolution Is Not a Dinner Party (Henry Holt) is based upon her
childhood experiences in Wuhan, China, during the 1960s and 1970s and
provides a perspective rarely seen about this particular historical
time. Ms. Compestine is the author of several picture book texts,
including "The Runaway Rice Cake," The Story of Noodles," "The Story of
Paper," and "D is for Dragon."

As well as being a chance to hear an intriguing presentation, it's an
opportunity to network with ALA members from divisions other than the
one in which you're most active.

PLEASE NOTE: This program is open only to ALA Midwinter registered
attendees and USSBY members (who do not need to be registered for
Midwinter). It is not open to the general public.
