Last week I sent out a request for recommendations for "must-have" titles to have for a brand-new high school library. I have probably received more requests for a "hit" than actual responses at this point but wanted to share what I've gotten so far. Contact the librarians at Macking (www.mackin.com) 1-800-245-9540 for Opening Day Collection Information Encyclopedia Britannica McGraw-Hill Encyclopedia of Science & Technology Grzimek’s Animal Life Encyclopedia Grove’s Dictionary of Music Grove’s Dictionary of Art Encyclopedia of Philosophy Encyclopedia of Religion International Encyclopedia of the Social Sciences Dictionary of American History Gale series such as Novels for students, Poetry for students, etc. Popular fiction including Monster, Walter Dean Myers Stephanie Meyer trilogy (Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse) Perks of Being a Wallflower Ellen Hopkins novels in verse (Crank, etc.) Sebold’s Lovely Bones Any Nicholas Sparks Literature Resource Center database Discovering Collection database If any of you think of any other titles, please send them along and I'll add them to the list and re-post a revised hit. Thanks again to all who responded. Ronda Y.
