LM_Netters, I am looking for suggestions on how to manage students who visit my media center during lunch. Currently, students are able to come to the media center at any time during their lunch. They do not need a pass. They are suppose to come with a productive purpose (homework, computer use, reading a magazine or book, etc.). We keep having more and more students come during lunchtime. The other day I counted 85 students during one lunch period. Obviously, many of these students did not have a productive task; they just wanted to socialize. I don't want to discourage use of the media center during lunch, but I do want students to be here for the right reason. I also do not want to spend all my time policing the students who are here at lunch. If you have a lunchtime system that works for you, I would appreciate you sharing it.
