The 9th grade starts a major research paper on Tuesday. Of course, I have thought
of something I want to do and have very little time to do it. So - I am again
tapping the awesome collective wisdom of this particular crowd.

Basically, I am looking for some sort of pre-assessment of research skills for 9th
graders. I want to have a better picture of where kids are with their skills.
Actually, I need 2 things:

1. Because of time contraints, some kind of "quick and dirty" pencil and paper
survey that could be completed by students in about 15 minutes.

2. A more detailed survey or activity that I could use next year before we jump
into teaching the research process.
