Once again we are holding an open house to give the staff and student
body a chance to see all of our new books on display before they are
circulated. Once again I am blown away by the reaction. We are playing
soft music in the background. The junior class brought in some samples
of their candle tarts so it smells like pumpkin spice. I have cookies
and cobbler for the staff in the back. Teachers are sending a few
students at at time and then coming in during their lunch and planning
periods. It is a flurry of excitement as everyone brings books up and
place holds on them for Monday checkout. It has been a day of organized
chaos but I've talked to so many people about books. I'm also surprised
at some of the books creating interest. Everyone is willing to work with
me for a day and not send students for anything but computer work or to
see the new books. If you've not done this before it is great PR and you
get to see another side of students and staff. Now I just want to go
home and read for the entire weekend!!
