As a librarian in international schools I have needed to build "mother tongue" collections in several languages. The OCLC Language Sets ordering program is an excellent tool for doing that. I hope this information is useful to Angela and Kate as well as to others who serving large immigrant or international populations. Mary Ellen http://www.oclc.org/languagesets/ OCLC Language Sets are the fast way to build multilingual collections, making it easy and affordable to serve your culturally diverse community. In the package of pre-selected sets, you get everything you need to start, maintain or expand a non-English language collection of books and DVDs. Or using custom collections, you tell us what type of materials you would like to receive (fiction, non-fiction, juvenile, DVDs, etc.). Regardless which option you may choose, you get quality MARC records for each title, your library's symbol added to WorldCat, and free cataloging and shipping. When do you need Language Sets? If your non-English user population is growing. If you do not have an in-house language specialist. If you want to serve all of your community. If you do not know whom to contact to acquire high-quality non-English material.
