I agree with the posters who don't read on the job because they want students to feel they are approachable - plus, I think it doesn't help our cause during tight times or contract negotiations, as administrators are looking to make staff cuts, add hall duty to our schedule, etc. I wouldn't think of logging into lm_net, or catching up on Bella & Edward, unless it was my lunch period.
