[LM_NET] TAR: Elem. "trying your best" books

Hello all,
 
One of our first grade teachers is looking for books that encourage "trying
your best". Well, that is not a familiar subject heading for us, so we're
having a real time trying to find books on this: however, we are "trying our
best".  The only one we have come up with so far is "The little engine that
could".
 
If you have any ideas, please contact me directly at either site below.
