Interesting how no one has yet tied the Smartboard thread in to our recent
discussion of the YouTube video on tehcnology and how students learn.
I have to add my voice to those in support of Smartboards--OR ANY OTHER
TECHNOLOGY THAT WILL ENGAGE OUR 'DIGITAL NATIVES'!( Sorry, sometimes my glittering
personality and comedy routine aren't enough to keep their attention.)
Our district put in 120 boards in the last year using Microsoft settlement
money. Before a teacher gets a Board, they have to be certified as a Power User in
about 6 different software packages, PLUS take 3 days of training in how to use the
Board, and how to integrate it into the curriculum. I would not be nearly as
effective without mine.
Welcome to 21st century education!!
