I KNOW this is shameless, but here goes <G>
Are you about to retire, or just recently retired (or maybe hoping to
be retired in the not-too-distant-future)?
If so, congratulations! If you are attending the CSLA Conference in
Ontario, CA, Nov. 15-18, you might be interested in the presentation
I am giving on consulting after retirement on Saturday, Nov. 17, at 1
pm, Room 200B. I'll be covering such things as deciding how much to
do, assessing your strong points, publicity and marketing yourself,
contracts, and pricing your services. Consulting can range all the
way from an occasional extra day or two helping out in your former
district to a full time new career. If you think you might be
interested in consulting, you owe it to yourself to do some
investigating before jumping in. This one hour session (with
handouts! and time for questions!!) is a good place to begin.
There is also another retirement-oriented program, this one on Friday
at 3:30 (not sure of the room number yet), hosted by Jeanne Nelson,
Judy Cohn, and Barbara Scheifler, a sort of 'round table' discussion
of creative retirement options.

Hope to see you at the conference!
