Regarding print and electronic resources, I have an interest in best leveraging our budget so that students and teachers have their research and reading needs served. Similarly, I have been looking for statistics or best practice recommendations on how to best accomplish this task. To that end, I have not been able to locate any professional accepted recommendations. Surely, it is important to maintain a robust fiction collection in print, but beyond that, what would best practice dictate? I look forward to a hit on this post. I don't have an answer, but I'm certainly interested in this. I'm new this year, and have convinced my principal (wonderful man!) that I need to gut the collection by half--at least! There is a somewhat vocal element here that thinks there's no point in buying books anymore. I disagree, but would love some research/ideas to back up my argument. I don't actually think it will be a big problem--most of the staff agree with me, but I'd like to be prepared!
