i've had several requests for more info on my district's Smartboard set up.  Pardon 
me for posting to the whole list.
  The software teachers must master: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, 
MovieMaker, Kidspiration/Inspiration, and Blackboard.  It involves a 50 hour tech 
camp on those titles.
  As far as training, we're lucky to have retired teacher who has been certified as 
a trainer by Smartboard.  The district hires her, and as the media people in the 
district become more familiar with the boards, we begin to do training too. 
  I think training is also available from SmartTech.
