Mariya, I just happened to see a book entitled The Gigantic Book of Teacher's Wisdom (Erin Gruwell, Ed.). Here is a description: When we look back with fondness at our school years, one teacher always stands out. This tremendous compendium of wisdom captures that special relationship. With more than 3,000 entries, it includes thoughts on the art of teaching and the acquisition of knowledge from hundreds of professors, scholars, politicians, celebrities, and more. Some of the famous names represented include Socrates, Aristotle, the Buddha, Jesus, Muhammad, Mark Twain, Frederick Douglass, Helen Keller, Freud, Albert Einstein, Gandhi, Winston Churchill, and John Lennon. The words will educate, amuse, and perhaps even inspire some readers to focus on this honorable profession as a lifelong pursuit. It is available through Amazon or Ed Hamilton, Bookseller for about $17. Thanks to my mom and the Chicago Public Library, I’m a writer now.” Sandra Cisneros (author) Mariya Rodriguez <mrodri15@NEISD.NET> wrote: I'm creating a bibliography of inspirational "teacher" books, both fiction and nonfiction, and was hoping this wonderful collective brain could add to the list. I'm putting things like Educating Esme, My Great Aunt Arizona, Thank You, Mr. Falker, Teacher Man, Thirty-Two Third Graders and a Class Bunny, etc. on the list. Is there something that you read that keeps you centered on the joy of teaching? I'll post a hit. THANKS!
