This is for a fourth grade class and they are hoping to get a book
written by a child during the time when they were a child. I think
any book written by a child would be on the right track. So far, I am
coming up with little that is age appropriate, save for the Scholastic
books published each year that are written by students, though of
course they are not autobiographies.

Other titles suggested so far that they might go for in a stretch are:

26 Farimount Avenue Books/ Tomie de Paola
A Girl from Yamhill / Beverly Cleary
Knots in My Yo-Yo String / Spinelli
Bill Peet: An Autobiography / Bill Peet
Zlata's Diary / Zlata Filipovic (I think this one they would not quite
be ready to read.)
