Good morning, I have just been asked to prepare and teach and economics lesson based on Treasure Island with a learning activity next week and am in a little panic about it. The Social teacher would like me to teach the Triangle of trade, but I think that would be more than a single lesson because the kids (7th grade) have no background information. The Language Arts teacher is interested in doing a lesson on the history of money. I have to have an activity to go with it though that will go with the text. Aack! Anyway, I have to be prepared to teach it next week sometime. Does anyone have an idea for an activity that will use both the text and an economics principle? I am leaning towards the Triangle of trade simply because I think we could do a circle of trade and money activity…but I am open to ideas. Thanks for all the your ideas! Brook A.
