in our district - and probably in the state - there are "activity" fund accounts set up for each campus; these are known as 207 accounts. the library has its own, and i think the campus has one of its own. all book fair profits are deposited into this account as well as money for lost&paid items. we don't charge fines at the elementary level, but if we did, this is the account where the money would go. for expenditures, the account is subdivided into two accounts: one for books/materials and the other for non-books supposedly, this money is ONLY for library use - and I've never had a problem, but i hear that other campuses have had principals who dipped into the library fundany time they needed something... -- Leah Hawkins, Librarian West Hurst Elementary Hurst, TX leahleah@tx.rr.com "It's no use going to school unless the library is your final destination."
