Hi, I tried sending this just to Tish but her spam blocker bounced it
back. Sorry to send it to the whole list. EV

Subject: SEC: 2nd try for Environmental Issues Picture Books for H.S.
students

I posted this last week - maybe a poor choice of timing right before the
holiday! So I'm trying again . . . I know there must be some great
choices
out there, and some great elementary media specialists who know them and
use
them! ( ;

I have a special ed. science teacher who would like her students to
write
their own books about nature and the environment. She wants to have me
read
some picture books to them as examples. So I'm looking for some ideas
for
picture books that would appeal to high school students, specifically
about
the environment and environmental issues. These are a mixture of
students at
different levels, but we want to stay away from "elementaryish"-type
books.
And we definitely want them to be entertaining. For example, I think
There's
a Hair in My Dirt by Gary Larson will go over well. Any ideas? TIA!
