Sorry to chime in late to the conversation, but I didn't see my favorite princess
book listed. It's the new title by Steven Layne called P Is For Princess from
Sleeping Bear Press and is in the Scholastic bookfair this fall. It focuses on all
royalty so boys aren't neglected either and includes fact with fiction.
Steve Layne is a wonderful speaker and should be invited to speak at more School
Library conferences. He currently speaks mainly at IRA, Reading Conferences, etc.,
but gave a wonderful talk at the Tennessee Association of School Librarians
Conference this November. He is willing to speak at school library conferences and

I think we should share more of the great speakers we hear at conferences so others
can benefit. I'll probably go blog about some of the speakers we had recently (Judy
Sima, Kathleen Baxter, Pam Flowers, Anna Myers, Mike Wimmer) and I encourage you to
add to the list.
