Why don't you create your own quiz for them? The AR software allows
you to create a quiz and add it to the quiz bank. If you have good
books on the shelf then probably someone on library staff has read them.
If they have not been read by someone, then you all have some reading to
do. It is so easy to create a quiz. I create quizzes, as does my
library aide. I also ask teachers who have read titles to create
quizzes over them.

Subject: Target: when the books aren't AR

I've have dealt with this issue before and decided to bring it to the
group this time. I have folks who wish to weed all books that aren't
AR (and we have AR Enterprise) because they aren't checked out.

I am reluctant to weed otherwise good books just because there is no AR
quiz available, but I understand or at least hear, their concern that
these books are not checked out. They are also concerned that these
books raise their counts when it comes to getting extra funds for book
purchase but are not seen as a true asset due to low circulation.

Without getting into a battle over the pros and cons of using AR (that
decision is not mine to make), what are your thoughts on this
situation? What do you do about books that aren't AR? How can we put
these otherwise good books to an effective use?

Thanks, Wise Ones
