Hello friends,

I had posted a target yesterday about a problem-solving research
assignment on social problems I want to use. I specifically asked
for sample outlines. I only received one response, so I am thinking
my request wasn't worded clearly. I didn't want to give so much
information that I limited the responses, but I fear I didn't explain
it well enough to get some valuable input.

I am asking high school seniors to research social problems in
today's society. They will research a problem (some of the topics
are below), provide background history and argue the seriousness of
the problem using data, expert opinion, and a case history. Then
they will use critical thinking skills to propose solutions. They
will write the paper and make a presentation to the class using a
PowerPoint to graphically present data and any pictures they believe
will support their argument.

Since their argument really only proposes solutions, and they don't
have to conduct an experiment to test it, what do you recommend as
the outline of the paper? This is what I have designed so far, but
am I leaving out any critical component?

I. Introduction
        A. Briefly describe the problem
        B. Thesis statement that addresses the problem and the recommended
solutions
II. History
        A.
        B.
III. History
        A.
        B.
IV. Strategies already being used (including why they haven't worked)
        A.
        B.
        C.
V. Proposal 1
        A.
        B.
        C.
VI. Proposal 2
        A.
        B.
        C.
VII. Proposal 3 (most likely preferred or most important)
        A.
        B.
        C.
VIII. Counterarguments justification to above solutions
VIII. Conclusion
        A. Restatement of thesis
        B. Summary of proposal
        C. Call to action
