I am in a new library this year and, while we have an excellent collection of pleasure-reading titles, I find that we are light on what I would consider classic literature: Animal Farm, 1984, Jonathan Livingston Seagull, etc. When a student came in asking for them I was surprised to learn they were not already in the collection. This prompted me to think there must be more that are not coming to mind that really should be here in my media center. Therefore, collective brain, I come to you for suggestions for must-have classics for my middle school. I WILL post a hit - I promise!
