 Original Post

Does anyone have a good source for Spanish Language Fiction Books. I
have tried to check with Follett, but to no avail.

What about titles that are popular among your ELL students.

Responses:

I just outfitted a library with 3000+ books in Spanish from Follett, so
I didn't have a problem with them at all.
As for titles - the Pura Belfre Awards are must-haves, and you can also
check the Reforma website: www.reforma.org <http://www.reforma.org> .
I've found that my ELL kids (we are 85% ELL) in the upper grades mostly
want to read lower-level English books OR Spanish translations of the
popular English books - Captain Underpants, Junie B., etc. They also
seem to LOVE graphic novels in either language.

Amazon has a good selection:

Have you tried setting the searching parameters to include Spanish
language and the grade level you are interested in? We have purchased a
good number of Spanish language fiction books from Perma-Bound books as
well, and Santillana-USA is an excellent source. Now they even provide
processing.

Try Lectorum, owned by Scholastic. I came from a 95% bilingual school
with a large collection of Spanish language materials. A lot of my
books came from Lectorum:

You can also look at Children's Press, Bound to Stay Bound books,
Permabound, Santillana, & Heinemann (great non-fiction series).

Try these printable leveled readers:

Procrastination,

I've been told,

Is the source of all my sorrow,

I don't know what it means,

I'll look it up tomorrow. (maybe)
