I just got back from a meeting with my school's reading teachers where I threw out the idea of having a coffee house in the media center for our middle school students. Everybody loved the idea and now I need your help to make it happen! Have any of you had a coffee house in the media center for middle school? If so, how does it work? How often do you host it? What mistakes did you make when starting out? What advice would you give me to get a successful reading event going here? I remember reading an article in SLJ (probably as many as 10 years ago now) that a media specialist had started one and it had become the "hottest ticket" in the school. I will post a HIT if I get some responses so please make note if you do not want your ideas shared with the group.
