Hi, folks. I have a golden opportunity to talk for about 45 minutes to a group of future teachers. I've been asked to talk about technology; media center resources in literacy, science, math; resources for diverse/multicultural learners; community resources; and inquiry projects. (Yeah, I know...if only I had a week...) Here's my chance! And the question to you all is, if you had time to talk about any of the above topics, what would you include? What advice would you give to them? And I want to include a story--what story would you tell or read that might show some cool aspect of collaboration, or libraries, etc.? I want them to walk out absolutely sure that the first thing they should do when they're hired is go straight to the teacher-librarian in their new school! I found a couple pertinent hits in the archives, about encouraging teacher/media center collaboration by getting involved in teacher preparation programs. Any further advice you have would be greatly appreciated!
