Hi all,

Those of you that are currently running CIRC/CAT or another computerized
circulation system, I am looking for suggestions. Since Follett is only supporting
CIRC/CAT for a limited (as yet to be announced) time period, our district is going
to look into other systems. Cost is a major factor - we currently pay $350 per
year (per building) for our CIRC/CAT tech support and we're really not looking to
spend much more than that. I believe that I need to write a proposal to our Board
BEFORE the end of January, if I'm going to request that they budget for this
conversion for next year. I've obviously never done anything like this before, so
I'll gladly accept any advice you have for me. I'd like to set up a day where we
can preview 4-5 different systems in an attempt to make the best decision for our
district. Please let me know what system your automated library runs and what your
opinions of it are, plus any cost estimates you might have. I truly appreciate
your help !

  Thanks,
Diane

P.S. I will also be posting a HIT to my question regarding a conversion to
Destiny, so you should see that online soon.
