Some of you may remember a posting back in the spring that Maya Angelou would be visiting our county in late September as part of the One Book One Community event and reading "I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings."? I'm leading a discussion group of teachers at our school and wanted to have a copy of the poem Maya starts out with in chapter 1.? It starts "What you looking at me for? I didn't come to stay..." I've tried Googling it and had no success other than one clue that it was some sort of holiday poem.? Anyone reconize it and can tell me if I can find it on-line?? I've tried several on-line poetry sites and typed in "What you looking at me for?" but no success in finding it that way either. I already have the poem from which Maya gets her title, but wanted to have this one too to show to the group.?
