I wonder if the problem was how the teacher felt about the picture or how the child
was handling it? I've taken books away from kids because they were causing such a
disturbance with screeching and pointing. It's not that I find the picture
objectionable (I'm a pretty liberal sort) but I just tell them that they're showing
me that they're just not ready for that book yet and they need to find a book they
can read without making a disturbance.

_No, David!_ by David Shannon is the big "Ooo, looka that!" book in our collection.

I had a child bring back a book today. He had just checked it out and he came back
and told me his teacher said he had to bring it back because of something on one of
the pages. I thought a child had written something bad. There was a post it
sticking out so I flipped to that page. The book was Eloise in Paris (I think-
today was so busy I have just had time to think about it). It showed a cartoon
drawing of a painting with a naked lady. The said lady was all of one inch tall.
That book has been checked out over and over and nobody has ever mentioned it until
now. Do you think I should draw some clothes on her??? :)
