Thanks for the wonderful 6-Traits information. I got links, attachments and information from other librarians who like me are trying to provide lists to their faculty regarding the books available in their collections. Much of the information was specific by collection, however I was able to glean titles enough to match with my collection. You can see what I have done as it is posted on our library catalog. Check the Visual Search under 6 Trait Writing. http://follett.mooreschools.com/common/servlet/presenthomeform.do?l2m=Home&tm=Home Staci from SouthCentral Texas’ Hays Independent School District send her link http://teacherweb.hayscisd.net/web/perkinss/sixtraits.html I got a document from Jared which included a great website and other collective information. He said he doesn’t mind being shared as a source. Contact him using the email listed below and he will share his document. His information came from a collaborative effort. Please make sure you acknowledge the creators when using the fruits of their labors. Jared Hedden Librarian, Sonoran Heights Elementary Dysart Unified School District, Surprise, AZ Jared.Hedden@dysart.org Sandy from North Carolina shared this blog site: http://www.asuen.com/blog.central.html <https://webmail.dpsnc.net/exchweb/bin/redir.asp?URL=http://www.asuen.com/blog.central.html> Deborah from PA shared: http://languagearts.pppst.com/6traits.html Sharon Haupt sent these links, sorry Sharon I don’t know where you are to list a state. “Here is a website that has a bibliography: http://www.asuen.com/faq.six.trait.biblio.html and here is a website that is a picture book of the day that addresses the 6 traits: http://picturebookoftheday.blogspot.com/ “ Judy from NY just shared this with her own faculty: http://www.kent.k12.wa.us/staff/LindaJancola/6Trait/6-trait.html This site includes lesson plans and rubrics. http://www.cyberspaces.net/6traits/ Includes an extensive list of synonyms for "said", books and strategies to help teach the traits, etc. http://www.edina.k12.mn.us/concord/teacherlinks/sixtraits/sixtraits.html Colorful posters, rubrics, etc. http://www.writingfix.com/Traits.htm Lots of goodies, including detailed lesson plans. And it looks like the library has many of the suggested titles. Thank you to everyone who took the time to share with me and everyone else on LM_NET.
