Hi all,
We have an author/illustrator visit planned at our school. This very well
known person did many children's books and we have a team of teachers ( I am
not on that team) assigned to pick one and develop a theme for the day and
get particpation based on that book. They want to decorate using characters
and settings from the book. I overheard their plans to draw ( project trace
or replicate by eye hand) some of the characters from the book to put up on
the walls and use the illustrations to make backgrounds etc. Their ideas
were great and a lot of fun for the kids but my comment was I think they
should get permission from him before that is done and the person shows up
that day with copies of their artwork all over the room. I think I may have
burst their bubble and I did not mean to be negative, just thought they
should cover their bases. Anyone with experience with this?
