GEN: Collaboration w/Kindergarten At one of my schools, we have a 9am-10:15am Kindergarten Literacy open time where Kindergarten and I would collaborate. Has anyone done anything like this before? I am confused on how this is supposed to work. The Kindergarten teachers are giving me themes (apples, butterflies, fire safety...)?to work with the students on for 40 minutes at a time. I can do whatever I want with them and the Principal wants me to incorporate technology into this. Then, I also have the Kindergarten classes during regular library time so that means I have them for over 60 minutes that day. It seems to me that the?Kindergarten teachers are throwing the themes and students at me so they can work with other students while I have them. Shouldn't there be a planning period where Kindergarten and I work together in planning the lesson? I would love your thoughts about this.
