LM_NET Archive



Another perspective -
AASL's programs and conferences at the beginning of the school year actually
give me a better chance for attendance.  Funding is more available then, and
if I plan well, I can also attend the state conference, later in the school
year.  During summer months, the school won't consider funding a conference,
and many librarians prefer not to donate their vacation time and money...  I
really believe that we get a better balance of opportunities with national
and state events with the current schedule.  Some librarians opt to attend
every other year, when funding becomes a concern.  Sometimes it is easier to
work around existing challenges....
