This is a great thread.

  I have a glass tube with water, glitter, gels, small pieces of 
confetti and Waldo.  You have to move it slowly back and forth to find a 
minuscule Waldo floating around in it.  The kids love it.   I even have 
an eighth grade boy who stops by on his way to P.E just to take a quick 
look.
