If you subscribe to Grolier's Online Encyclopedia, they have a wonderful
component called "Amazing Animals".
Here are a few sites to use with second grade students
Kid's Click has some nice links at http://www.kidsclick.org/midanim.html

I've used the San Diego Zoo Site with second grade. It's awesome! But here are
some other suggestions for you. I use the eMINTS site to find web sites because
they are child friendly. Here's the list of topics by grade.

http://www.emints.org/ethemes/resources/by-grade.shtml
<http://hewitt76ex/exchweb/bin/redir.asp?URL=http://www.emints.org/ethemes/resources/by-grade.shtml>

If you scroll down to second grade you can find plenty of resources.
