The Question Mark Vol 4|No 4|April|2008 There are three articles in this month's issue. 1. The Mystery Curriculum By Jamie McKenzie http://questioning.org/apr08/mystery.html (questioning.org/apr08/mystery.html) Even though the most important questions in life may be to some extent unanswerable, these challenging and often frustrating issues should occupy a prominent position in the curriculum guides of schools that claim to prepare students for life in this new century. 2. The Thinker in Residence Programme: Reflections from the Host School By Juliette Hayes http://questioning.org/apr08/host.html (questioning.org/apr08/host.html) For decades, schools have enjoyed writers and artists in residence. Why not, then, a thinker in residence? asked Juliette Hayes, Deputy Principal of the Waikato Diocesan School in Hamilton, New Zealand. 3. Reflections from the Visitor By Jamie McKenzie http://questioning.org/apr08/visitor.html (questioning.org/apr08/visitor.html) What a remarkable way to spend a week. Five days of meeting with staff and students in what were often free ranging discussions of what it means to be a thinker. For my part, I began by stating my belief that every person in the school could be a thinker if she or he chose to be one.
