Teen and Tween girls rejoice!!
There are plenty of books out there that show girls how to put on make-up and how
to be a goddess, but ones that I see and/or have usually feature a famous model and
the information given is geared more toward adults. These books do draw YA
interest, but this book, in its simplicity and length, will be sure to have a
faithful following. The chapters are short and range anywhere from how to walk in
high-heeled shoes to how to look beautiful for free to how to lip-synch
successfully and will draw and keep readers. I reviewed more of this book on my
blog. naomibates.blogspot.com
The cover art may make YA's shy away from it, because it doesn't illustrate today's
teens. The solution to making this a popular book will be booktalking and/or
strategically putting it in the right hands and letting it make the rounds. It has
over 103 small chapters, or subjects, and will engage readers. This is not meant to
be read like a book...the table of contents will take care of what the reader is
looking for.
Buy multiple copies....they will be taken! The companion book for this is The
Boys' Book of Survival: How to survive anything, anywhere. I haven't read it yet,
but will this evening! This book will be a favorite for your tween and teen female
readers. Published by Scholastic, release date January 2009.
