I work at a high school that currently has what was our jr. high (grades 8-9)
combined with our high school (grades 10-12) so now we have grades 8-12 at my
school, still in two buildings right next door to one another, each building with
it's own library. They are building us a new high school building which won't be
be ready until 2010 to house grades 9-12. We plan to combine both of these
collections into one to take to the new high school. More pressing is the fact
that this summer we upgraded from Follett Circ/Cat to Destiny throughout our
district. My library (grades 8-9) converted into Destiny just fine. The "gold"
library (other building, grades 10-12...we do have some cross-over of students in
both buildings, however) had so many cataloging errors and duplicate barcode
numbers with my collection that we decided it was best to leave it on Circ/Cat
until we can clean up that collection by discarding old stuff, all paperbacks (they
are in terrible shape), etc.

My question to you is how we can operate in Destiny and have some indication of
what is in the "blue" library and what is in the "gold" library when they look at
the catalog? The Follett staff have been stumped by this issue (short of buying
another site license for one of the buildings for the next year or two). They tell
us we only need one site license because we are one school. I can't figure out how
to easily indicate what is where without going into each individual record and
indicating a sublocation. I'm thinking it will be easier to just rebarcode the
entire gold library collection once we weed (because their are so many duplicate
barcode numbers between our two collections). If anyone has any experience or
ideas on a field or some indicator we can globally add to the "gold" records to
indicate they are "next door", please, please let me know.

Other ideas on combining collections in a similar situation will also be so very
much appreciated!
