This is the information that I received from a librarian on the list who
is reviewing the series for School Library Journal:
Each title consists of 6-8 questions, like, "What are the Risks in
Tattooing?", in the Body Piercing book. So, the information is basic.
Photos are mostly of teenagers - and there are lots of colored photos.
Glossary, index, web sites, good index..... Reading level is about 6th
grade but interest level is higher. I'd say the FAQ set is one step
(grade level 6, instead of 5) higher in reading level than the
Everything series. FAQ is definitely formatted for high interest and
easy reading chapters.
Based on this information I will be ordering titles. I was just
discussing with my Mackin representative on Friday that I needed a
series to replace the "Everything You Need to Know About" series and
this looks about as close as anything I've seen for the reluctant
reader.
