[LM_NET] ELEM / MIDDLE: Atlas Materials Query

Our media research program is in need of purchasing materials for
teaching an atlas unit / map skills. We are a PK-8 school however these
materials would be primarily for our 3rd - 5th grades (give or take a
year). 

Please share the following:

1)  Recommendations for publishers / materials. 
2) What it is that you like about the materials.
3) Does the material come with an instructor guide / lesson ideas?
4) Any additional input you believe pertinent on this topic such as:
hard cover
    (spend the money?) vs soft cover  (cover with laminate)?
