I'm looking for some good ideas to prepare my 4th and 5th graders for the Reading Olympics. This is the first year for Delaware County to be in the Reading Olympics and I thought I would ask our neighbors from Montgomery county what is the best way to prepare the elementary students. I have the books available for them. We have started to have lunch together once a week. They each have a notebook to keep some notes on each book. We have 1 fourth grade team and 2 fifth teams. Since their lunch times are different, we've kept them as different teams. However, we have a wiki that we share comments on together. Since we are all reading different books - I am wondering how to make the best use of that lunch time discussion. For those of you who have already had teams, what have you found to be the best way to prepare students for the reading olympics quiz night? Thank you!
