Subject: Tale of Desperaux

At the risk of seeming really out of touch with things, I have a
question about the Tale of Desperaux. I thought that in the book, that
the mouse was a very pompous figure that only learned to appreciate
"life" through spending a long time traveling from place to place.
However the movie paints him as a hero on a quest to save a princess. Am
I confusing a different book with this or is the movie that far off from
the book?

Cheryl,

I believe you may be thinking of The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane
by the same author. Despereaux was a gentle hero throughout the story,
as I recall.
