The American Psychiatric Association is currently working on the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders. I am most interested in how the revisions of this book are coming to be (the process) - the influences and the effect of its content and how its content has an effect on the public - the monetary influences, the sources used, and the overall accuracy. We speak to our students about Wikipedia etc. and the viability of sources. I think there are bigger lessons here (facts)- in the DSM revision process that could be valuable for use in the discussion of viable sources, how sources are influenced and how the information can effect and influence professionals and the public. I am most interested in any ideas LM_NET readers might have on this topic and the evaluation of sources in general. www.librarymedia.net ddigregorio@tenafly.k12.nj.us Tel. 201-816-6617 Cell. 201-696-8062 David Di Gregorio Supervisor Library Media Services Tenafly High School 19 Columbus Drive Tenafly, NJ 07670 USA -------------------------------------------------------------------- Please note: All LM_NET postings are protected by copyright law.
