Disposal of any Holy Books: The question was interesting to say the least. While many regard the book itself as nothing more that paper, most agree that respect and honor one should be given to a "holy" book- this sets the Bible, Koran, Torah off from other mere books. I couldn't find exact answers, but many Christian scholars lend toward following our Jewish leaders and suggest a burial, some with specific liturgy, others just suggest that a church may collect and then bury the worn editions in a respectful nature. I would suggest contacting local places of worship and ask if they would take them off your hands. Thereby allowing them to dispose of the questionable books in compliance with their beliefs. You won't be caught offending anyone and you may earn some respect from community for your sensitivity. Deanna Erickson Unity School Librarian//A.D.P. Coordinator P.O.
