I think it is unreasonable for anyone of any religion to expect someone not of their religion to go out of their way to dispose of a book in any particular manner. It would be a different situation if some one purposely tried to do it in a disrespectful manner. I, however, am not suggesting that we be disrespectful. I am only suggesting that it is perfectly fine to treat all books the same. Someone already pointed out that the suggestion of burning a book could get you killed.
