I am looking for some recommendations for good books on materials. They are for years 11 and 12 but we don't want anything too in-depth. Something colourful, eyecatching, exciting, you know the sort of thing. Oh, and not too long. Our books are frankly old and dull and thick. We are looking for (preferably individual) titles on: Engineering materials Ceramics Silicon Semi-conductors Glass, Carbon fibre Composites Any metals, steel, copper, etc Anything on smart materials (this would be particularly useful) It's so much easier if you guys know of some stuff that looks good, as catalogues can sometimes be misleading. Many thanks to you all. If anyone is interested, I will post to the list.
