[LM_NET] OT:retirement and where to live? Possibly Georgia?

Dear Netters,

 

Need your fantastic ideas. I will retire in 5 years and need to start
planning my move now. I am looking for a smaller town (under 30,000) or
outside of town in a rural area. I am looking to pay lower property
taxes than in El Paso -ours are outrageous! I am also looking for a
lower sales tax-we pay 8.25% here in El Paso. El Paso has become a
financial drain on the retired and the elderly and there is no end in
sight. We are also looking for great weather-no temperatures below 55
year-round-we don't mind the heat. We are also looking to buy a home
with a budget of $150K-$300K. We would like at least 3 bedrooms. I have
looked at southern Georgia-it looks promising. If you live somewhere in
Georgia, or know of another place that meets my criteria, will you
contact me off list? I would like a lot of info from the collective
brain.
